Perfume is certainly one of the oldest cosmetics and a step in the body beauty routine. Even it is part of our daily lives, there is evidence that mistakes continue to be made, often due to total ignorance, when it comes to choosing, applying and keeping them.

Fortunately, today our perfumer Mylène Thioux reveals the 7 most common mistakes that we must avoid in order to get the most out of perfumes :

1. Forget to hydrate the skin
Before applying your perfume, remember to hydrate your skin so that the scent lasts longer. If you use a moisturizing lotion to match your scent like the Black Label Collection, this is ideal. The perfect moment is right out of the shower, because the pores are more dilated and therefore will keep the scent all day.

2. Rub the aroma between the wrists
A habit that usually occurs when you test perfumes in stores. But in reality, with this gesture, the molecules of the perfume are altered, and therefore its aroma is modified.

3. Saturate the sense of smell when new fragrances are tested
The sense of smell distinguishes only three to four similar aromas. That is why, when looking for the perfect scent, it is recommended not to exceed this number and if you do, you should rest your sense of smell between 2 tries by smelling another area of your skin or going out. for a short period of time from the store where you are located.

4. Spray the perfume on clothes or hair
Clothing could be damaged, especially fabrics such as skin and leather, and in the case of hair, it is recommended that you choose specific fragrances, such as Scented Hair Mists, which replace some of alcohol that dries out hair with ingredients that take care of it, such as vegetable keratin and silk proteins.

5. Shake the perfume before use
The fragrances are formulated so that they do not need to be stirred and they do not separate into two phases. In this way, its formula breaks down and its components are changed.

6. Avoid storing it in the bathroom
To retain the scent properly, avoid damp areas such as the bathroom and direct sunlight. In the long term, it could damage them and age them. For this reason, it is recommended that you be in a cool, dry place, or protect them with a special case for perfumes.

7. The "Um ... what is that scent?" I want the same ! "
Sometimes we choose a scent just because we smelled it on someone else and loved their scent. Please note: when deciding on a fragrance, our skin is in charge. Before choosing your perfume, it is very important to know the characteristics of your skin well and to see how the perfume evolves on it. The contact between the two will determine if this scent is for you.

If you've made any of these mistakes, it's time to put these tips into practice and finally get the most out of your scents!
